The billfish season usually starts during the time of Kaskazi which is the north east wind. This blows during December to March and allows for warmer and calmer seas. From mid March to November the South West wind, Kusi which is a cooler time, but choppier, brings in the Yellow Fin Tuna. This area allows for great fishing all year round though. A tag and release system is encouraged for all billfish and sharks caught. If the idea of big game fishing off the coast of East Africa appeals to you, then please consult one of our Frontier Safari Specialists. This can be added on to one of our fantastic East African safaris or arranged on its own. But consider this – you will be close enough to take a trip to the Massai Mara as well, so why not! |
