Gorilla Forest Camp is a luxury tented camp perched on the side of a mountain in the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. It overlooks the park in southerly direction, and is the ideal base for gorilla tracking and birding excursions in the park. Bwindi is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is the natural habitat for just over half the world’s last surviving population of mountain gorillas. |
Accommodation and Facilities
Accommodation is in 8 double tents, each with en-suite facilities and hot and cold running water, WC, basin and unusually - a bathtub looking out onto the forest. Each tent has a spacious wooden deck where guests can relax or have private meal. The tents have wooden decks inside and 2 queen-sized beds carved by Ugandan artisans.
The Gorilla Forest Camp offers a bar and dining cottage overlooking the rain forest, as well as a raised natural platform for open air dining. Guests can sit around the cosy campfire at night and enjoy Bwindi’s crystal clear mountain sky. 240 volt electricity is supplied for lighting, and recharging of videos, laptops and telephones. There is a small gift shop at the camp offering a variety of local artifacts and practical supplies. |

Semliki Lodge, Semliki Reserve
Semliki was built in the grand old safari tradition with canvas tents under thatched roofs…but this is far from camping. Gleaming hardwood floors, four poster beds, persian carpets…each room has electric lights and ensuite bathrooms with running water. Each has a veranda overlooking wonderfuls views. When your tea or coffee is brought to you in the morning - you can sit in your bathrobe taking in the views of mountains and savanna, forest and river valley.
The main lodge is a large, comfortable living space where our guests converge to watch the sun set, listen to stories and gather around the massive hand-hewn tables to share share their experiences of the day. Lots of comfortable armchairs and sofas.

Apoka Lodge, Kidepo Valley NP
The rooms at Apoka have been built with comfort in mind. Everything is handmade by local craftsmen, everything is large and capacious. 10 expansive rooms with natural canvas walls surround a rocky kopje with endless views across the savannah. With inside sitting rooms and private verandas there are plenty of places to relax, read and write letters. Big hand-hewn beds with soft duvets are draped with mosquito nets, hand-woven woolen carpets, extra large plush towels, oversized dressing gowns…you may be as far away from the city as you’ll ever be, but you won’t miss a thing.
Each room has its own ensuite bathroom with double sink and large tropical shower. Water is heated by solar power and there is plenty of it. Step outside to a sheltered terrace and slip into your own outdoor stone bathtub, big enough to fit the whole family. All rooms have electric lights, power points. |

Emin Pasha Hotel, Kampala
Set in 2 acres of leafy landscaped gardens, this is a tropical version of the country house hotel. Centrally located and within walking distance to Kampala’s business district, it is amazingly tranquil and peaceful.
